These are not shocking numbers, even for Chinese households, who presumably pay quite a lot less. The infrastructure issue is entirely about fast (>50 kw) chargers on highways for longer trips. These cost ten times as much, but the number needed is in the tens (possibly hundreds) of thousands, like gas stations, not the millions.
