I hope readers, including Ms Meyer, bear fully in mind the horrible environmental consequences of solution mining for lithium in the unique high “salas” of South America.
Of course, lithium ion batteries are a Nobel Prize-worthy invention but their exponentially rising use in electric vehicles, boosted by foolish and short-sighted Governmental policies, will cause a supply shortage of the other “energy” metals, including lithium by the middle of the coming decade.

China has scooped a dominant fraction of the Global mining, refining and trade in all the critical “energy” metals and very likely will not care greatly about these matters if unrestrained by local concerns. Climate alarmists need to be very careful about what they wish for.
